Our Kitchen Transformation

Starting last Saturday the 1st of August Zach started working on our kitchen remodel with the help of Jon. (Thanks Jon) They moved the water heater into the back of the pantry and plumbed in the dishwasher. Zach also built new shelves to fill the space the hot water heater used to be in, and then put the shelves back up in front of the hot water heater in the pantry. He also put in a replacement window over the sink. On Monday and Tuesday, Zach and a coworker Chris, began taking out the old counter top and replacing it with the new counter top and then hooking up the dishwasher. We have loved the way that everything looks and how much space we feel like we gained! I love the dishwasher and look forward to continuing to use it!! Here's a few pics to give you an idea of what we did and the way it looked before we remodeled for those of you who have never seen the kitchen. Enjoy! :)
This is the old kitchen sink and window, along with the old microwave cart.

This is how it looked after it was all taken out and the new stuff was getting ready to be put in.

This is how it looked after the work was all done! New window, new dishwasher, new faucet, and new and longer counter top!

Here's a faraway view of the sink area.

Here's the old peninsula just waiting to have the old counter top ripped off.

......and here is the new counter top...we actually added an inch wider to our space....

This is our biggest transformation, this is the before picture of where the hot water heater was. We moved it into the pantry which is through the doorway just left of the hot water heater.

Here is the finished product with the pantry door opening out now instead of in like it did previously, and then with the new shelves that Zach built for my cookbooks and other big things that don't fit in a cupboard. We also gained an extra two feet of counter space here by moving the hot water heater.

We hope that you all enjoyed the pics!! Have a blessed day!
